Our ranch is located in Northeastern New Mexico.
We run 400 cows on some of the best sand hill country in the
Southwest. We dry pasture our cows in the winter and supplement
only with a 20% protein Breeder cube. We expect maximum production
out of every cow with limited input. The majority of the time
we retain interest in our commercial calves from the standpoint
that we believe in our genetics. We keep forty replacements
a year and try to get as much longevity out of each cow as possible.
Presently, we have been breeding 60% of the commercial herd
to performance directed Angus bulls to produce superior baldies,
and have been rather impressed with the cross. We have accumulated
around forty black baldies and have been using them both as
cows and recipients for our E.T. program. Over the years we
have purchased and used a number of sires, and a select few
have surfaced. We were very fortunate to land 3 outstanding
sires that appear in about every pedigree: Bell L Diamond 12Z,
CA 157, and C Pure Gold 0140.
Connie and I started our herd in 1975 with a
tax rebate check. Our philosophy has never changed; line up
as many good cows as you can in one pedigree. We have two
sons, Kyle and Drew, who both play an important part in our
operation's success. Kyle recently graduate from Kansas State University with a degree in Animal
Science, and Drew is a senior at
Logan High School. Connie contributes to the ranch income
as she has been a full-time school teacher for 23 years. We
believe that success is derived from hard work and determination.
This ranch's interest is always directed towards
our customers' needs. We back every thing we sell, and are
unsatisfied until you are.
We appreciate your interest in our program, and
we look forward to doing business with you in the future.
